Why did you decide to study GFTM?

Ever since I had the opportunity to contribute to the technology management of Daimler Trucks during my bachelor’s degree — working on forward-thinking, innovative solutions — I knew that this was the field I wanted to dedicate myself to.

The master’s program in Global Foresight and Technology Management (GFTM) provided the ideal academic framework to deepen my expertise and to pursue this path.

What was the most important lesson you learned during your studies?

The future is uncertain and cannot be predicted, but through the decisions we take today and the lessons we draw from the past, we have the chance to shape it in a desired direction. 

When you look back on your studies: What do you still benefit from most today?

The broad range of methods we got taught for both Foresight and Innovation Management I can apply in my work today. On top of that, I highly value the projects with industrial partners where we got the opportunity to bring theory to practice throughout the program.

Since graduating, what phases of your profession have you completed?

Since graduating, I’ve been working at LAPP Group as an Innovation and Technology Manager — driving forward innovative initiatives and long-term technology strategies.

How would you describe your typical workday?

In my role, I work closely with our global R&D teams to develop innovative solutions. A key part of my work is to foster transparency and collaboration across our international R&D network. This includes organizing strategic R&D events, enhancing global processes, and shaping as well as maintaining our technology roadmaps to ensure alignment and long-term impact.

What makes your industry so exciting for you?

I appreciate being part of a family-owned company that operates on a global scale. It combines features of a small company like flexibility and trust with benefits of an OEM like internationality and work life balance.

What do you particularly like about your job?

I like the interactions with colleagues from all around the world and that I have the opportunity to constantly deal with the future for my work. I especially appreciate the freedom and trust I’m given to actively contribute, shape our ways of working, and help to drive meaningful change.

How has completing your studies contributed to the realization of your career goals?

Since my master thesis at LAPP led me directly into my first professional position there is a direct connection between finishing the GFTM study program and my career so far. Looking back at the seamless transition from academia to my professional career proves to me that my studies have helped me to develop a strong skillset suitable for my chosen career path.

What criteria did you use to decide on a particular career path/step?

What matters most to me is being part of a motivated, open-minded team—where collaboration, mutual support, and shared goals take priority over individual agendas.

When it comes to career choices, my personal advice is to define long-term goals but stay open and flexible in the short-term.

What is your favourite future, professional or personal?

I’m driven by the ambition to work across different countries and cultures—continuously striving to develop innovative solutions that contribute to a more efficient and sustainable world.
