Profile

This is how I informed myself:

Via the online navigator for academic study in Germany from the Federal Employment Agency, and other similar tests and comparison sites. I then did more detailed research on the websites of the respective universities.

That's why I opted for the study course at THI:

Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt is a leader in the field of Biomechanics. In addition, the location and appearance of the city/university was quite favourable for me.

My tip for study orientation:

Do lots of online self-tests, make sure you go to information events - preferably on site. Talk to friends and family about your thoughts and listen to your gut feeling. A decision is only bad if you don't make it.

Contents of my academic studies:

The first two semesters, the so-called "basic studies", focus very much on the mechanical engineering part of the programme. This is where you learn engineering maths, statics, thermodynamics, design, materials technology, etc. Biomechanics is also included. From the third semester onwards, the main study programme begins, in which progressively less Mechanical Engineering and more Biomechanics is taught. For example, bionics, anatomy, rehabilitation technology, biomechatronics, etc. Some special subjects and of course the laboratory course are also included.

You should have these character traits for the study course:

An interest in technology, empathy, a healthy tolerance for frustration, enjoyment of learning, openness.

My favourite thing about the THI:

It's a very bright, cosy university. The Library is definitely a highlight, as well as all the activities surrounding everyday learning. Be it regular events or the university sports programme.

My favourite experience/project during my academic studies:

I haven't seen much yet, I'm still at the beginning. But every day with my friends at the university is a gift. The entrepreneurship project was also very interesting.

My favourite subject:

Fundamentals of Biomechanics, Materials Engineering and Statics so far.
