Business Management (M. A.)

Application period for the winter semester 2027/28: 2 May to 15 July 2027

A flexible, practical master's program – ideal for anyone who wants to expand their management skills in a targeted manner and sharpen their personal profile!

The master's program in Business Management at THI Business School is aimed at graduates of economics or related bachelor's programs who want to deepen their knowledge of management while gaining valuable practical experience.

Flexible and practical study: What makes this master's program special is that it is divided into four semesters. This means that there are fewer courses per week, which are then spread over fewer days. This allows students to optimally combine their studies with practical experience - ideal for anyone who already has a job or would like to gain practical experience as a working student. There is plenty of time for work, projects, or personal activities. Those who prefer a faster pace can also complete their studies in the traditional three semesters with appropriate planning.

Set your own priorities: At its core, the program imparts future-oriented knowledge in key management areas - from human resources and leadership to sustainability in supply chains, risk management, and the use of artificial intelligence for data-driven corporate decisions. In addition, a wide range of elective courses - for example, in the fields of business and organizational psychology or leadership and management practices - offer the opportunity to tailor your own profile. Depending on the modules you choose, the entire program can be completed in German. Selected modules are also available in English upon request.

Whether you want to concentrate on HR management and psychology, focus on business management, or develop a broad, interdisciplinary skill set - you decide which path to take. Those who have additional flexibility in terms of time can also deepen their knowledge of sustainable supply chain management through collaborations with other master's programs. We will, of course, take care of the organizational coordination.

Personal consultation included: We provide you with individual advice on your options and align your study plans with your career goals. This sets the Master of Business Management apart from many other programs, where specializations are already fixed and there is little room for individual profile development.

Contents

The part-time version of the program comprises four semesters with a smaller number of weekly classes. With appropriate planning, the program can also be completed in three semesters.

The Master of Business Management is a broad-based business administration master's program with a focus on modern management and leadership skills. Despite its broad scope, it allows students to set their own priorities through elective courses.

The modules in the first three semesters cover topics such as sustainability in supply chains, human resources and leadership, financial management, and the use of artificial intelligence in business analytics for data-based corporate decisions.

This is supplemented by a practical project and elective courses in the areas of business and organizational psychology, strategic and operational HR management, or practical management decisions. A specialization in sustainable supply chain management is possible in cooperation with other master's programs. The fourth semester is reserved for the master's thesis.

Proof can be provided in the form of a certificate from the university stating that the ECTS / internship was not recognised in the first degree programme. The duration of the work placement outside of the degree programme or practical work completed in addition to the first degree should be at least 20 weeks full-time. In addition, the internship certificate must be submitted in officially certified form together with the other application documents. In both cases, we recommend that applicants submit documents that are as informative as possible and from which the examination board can immediately and clearly understand the content aspects.

Dual studies or studies with in-depth practical

The dual study program combines practical training elements in a company with theoretical training at a university. Students can choose either the combined model (study & vocational training) or the study program with in-depth practical experience (study and intensive practical phases). The advantage for students is obvious: with practical academic training, the transition from study to career is usually smooth. In addition, students are usually financially compensated by the respective company.

Please refer to our dual studies-pages or search for a dual company partner. Even if there are currently no partner companies active in this degree program, you are welcome to contact us.

FAQs

Can I complete my studies more quickly?

The program is designed to last four semesters. Students have the option of working part-time. With appropriate planning, however, the master's thesis can be completed as early as the third semester. Please bear in mind the resulting increase in workload: all master's courses should be prepared for and followed up on accordingly.

What language are the events held in?

The Master's degree in Business Management can be studied entirely in German. Depending on your interests, you can choose elective subjects taught in English. The Master's thesis is usually written in German.

How and when can I apply?

Here you'll find more information relating to your application.

What documents do I have to submit with my application?

A full list of documents is provided in the application tool.
Here you will also find detailed requirements in terms of the form in which the documents have to be submitted. All documents initially have to be uploaded online.
In the event of admission to the master's degree course, certain documents then have to be submitted as an original or as a certified copy.

Can I submit the bachelor’s degree certificate at a later stage?

The bachelor’s degree certificate can be submitted later provided evidence is submitted before the regular application deadline that the applicant will complete their first degree course at the end of the current semester with 210 ECTS points. This is done by uploading a recent transcript of records and proof of the final ECTS credits earned upon graduation (for example, excerpt study and examination regulation). Whatever happens, the final certificate or confirmation of successful completion of the first degree must be submitted no later than at matriculation.

Are waiting semesters counted in connection with the master's program?

Waiting semesters are not counted in connection with an application to a master's degree course. Students who have applied previously are not at any advantage or disadvantage.
