Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) congratulates the Federal Highway and Transport Research Institute (BASt) on its 75th anniversary

To mark its 75th anniversary, the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) recently hosted an open day in Bergisch Gladbach. The THI was represented by Professor Dr Christian Birkner, spokesperson for the ‘ CARISSMA ’ research centre.

On behalf of THI, Professor Birkner presented the President of BASt, Professor Markus Oeser, and the Vice-President, Professor Andre Seeck, with a certificate of congratulations from the university.

“For many decades, the BASt has shaped road and transport research in Germany and made a significant contribution to improving road safety. As a university with proven expertise in the fields of Automated Driving and Vehicle Safety, as well as in mobility research, we are united by the common goal of shaping the mobility of the future safely and sustainably. We look forward to continuing and deepening our collaboration with BASt in the future,” emphasised Professor Christian Birkner.

With its ‘ CARISSMA ’ research centre, THI ranks among the leading universities in the field of vehicle safety. Together with partners from academia, industry, and the public sector, it develops innovative solutions for the mobility of tomorrow – from accident prevention and intelligent driver assistance systems to automated and connected driving.
